Booking & Planning

Some group tours require a minimum number of participants. If the minimum is not reached, we will offer you an alternative tour, adjusted pricing, or a full refund. Day tours and tailor-made tours are available for individuals, couples, and small groups.

We recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance, especially during peak season (December–March and July–August). For tailor-made tours or trips involving specific activities like hot air balloon rides or safaris during prime season, earlier is better to secure availability.

A booking is only confirmed after you receive written confirmation from us and the required deposit has been received.

Payments

Yes. All payments are processed through secure, encrypted third-party payment providers. SriReisen does not store or have access to your card details. We recommend using a payment method with buyer protection, such as a credit card, and obtaining travel insurance.

We quote prices in USD, EUR, or LKR (Sri Lankan Rupees), as specified in your booking confirmation. Payments are processed via secure third-party providers. SriReisen does not store credit card details.

We accept cash in USD, EURO and LKR, bank transfers, and secure online payment gateways. A deposit may be required to confirm your booking, with the remaining balance due before the tour start date. Full payment details are provided in your booking confirmation.

Cancellations & Changes

Minor adjustments such as timing, routing, or accommodation within the same category may be made for operational or safety reasons, and these do not qualify as significant changes. If you would like to make changes on your side, please contact us as early as possible — we will do our best to accommodate your request, though changes may be subject to availability and additional costs.

In the unlikely event that we must cancel your tour due to unavoidable circumstances (such as severe weather or force majeure), you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule to an alternative date. Refunds are processed within 7–14 business days. More info Cancellation & refund

If you cancel more than 14 days before your tour start date, you will receive a refund minus any non-recoverable costs. Cancellations made 7–14 days before departure are eligible for a partial refund. Cancellations with less than 7 days’ notice or no-shows are non-refundable. Tours & Activities

Yes, all our local guides and drivers communicate in English. German-speaking guides can be arranged upon request, though availability may vary by region. Please mention your preference at the time of booking.

Yes, most of our safari tours are family-friendly. We recommend checking the specific requirements of each tour, as some activities (such as white-water rafting) have minimum age restrictions. Please let us know when booking if you are travelling with children so we can tailor the experience accordingly.

We offer Day Tours (single-day excursions to specific sites or regions), Round Tours (multi-day packages covering multiple destinations), and fully Tailor-Made itineraries designed around your preferences. Popular themes include wildlife safaris, cultural heritage, coastal escapes, hill country tea estates, and adventure activities.

Travel Practicalities

We recommend lightweight, breathable clothing in modest styles (shoulders and knees covered for temple visits), comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen and insect repellent, a light rain jacket, and a small daypack. A full packing list tailored to your specific itinerary can be provided upon booking.

We strongly recommend that all travellers obtain comprehensive travel insurance before departure. Insurance should ideally cover medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and loss of belongings. Travel in Sri Lanka may involve inherent risks including road conditions, wildlife, weather, and remote locations.

Sri Lanka can be visited year-round, but different regions have different weather patterns due to two monsoon seasons. The west and south coasts (Colombo, Galle, Mirissa) are best from November to April. The east coast (Arugam Bay, Trincomalee) is best from May to September. The cultural triangle (Sigiriya, Kandy) is accessible year-round. We are happy to advise you on the best timing for your specific interests.

Most nationalities require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to enter Sri Lanka. You can apply online at https://www.eta.gov.lk. The ETA is typically valid for 30 days and can be extended. Please check the current visa requirements for your specific passport well in advance of your trip.
