We understand that plans sometimes need to change. This policy explains exactly what happens if you or SriReisen need to cancel or modify a confirmed booking.

2.2 Non-Refundable Services

Please note that certain services may be non-refundable regardless of cancellation timing, because SriReisen has already committed to payments on your behalf. These include:

  • National park entry permits and safari permits
  •  Pre-booked hotels with strict no-refund policies
  • Hot air balloon bookings
  • Pre-arranged activity bookings with third-party operators
  • Train or domestic flight tickets

Where any service in your itinerary is non-refundable, this will be clearly indicated in your booking confirmation.

2.3 Partial Cancellations

If you wish to cancel only part of a confirmed booking (e.g. specific days or services), this will be treated as a change request and assessed on a case-by-case basis. Costs already incurred for the relevant portion are non-refundable.

3. Cancellation by SriReisen

3.1 Cancellation Due to Unavoidable Circumstances

In the unlikely event that SriReisen is forced to cancel a confirmed tour due to circumstances beyond our control — including force majeure events such as natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics, or government travel restrictions — all travellers will receive:

  • A full refund of all payments made to SriReisen, OR
  • The option to reschedule to an alternative date or tour of equivalent value

Where non-recoverable costs have already been paid to third parties on your behalf, SriReisen will provide a transparent breakdown and refund all recoverable amounts.

3.2 Cancellation Due to Minimum Participation

If a tour is cancelled due to insufficient participation, SriReisen will notify you no later than:

  • 20 days before departure for tours of more than 6 days
  • 7 days before departure for shorter tours

You will receive a full refund of all payments made, or may transfer your booking to an alternative tour.

3.3 Cancellation for Reasons Within SriReisen's Control

If SriReisen cancels a confirmed tour for reasons within our control (other than force majeure or minimum participation), you will be entitled to:

  • A full refund of all payments made
  • Compensation as appropriate under applicable law

4. Refund Processing

Refund method

Refunds are returned via the original payment method where possible

Processing time

7–14 business days after cancellation is confirmed in writing

Currency

Refunds are issued in the original payment currency

Bank charges

Any bank transfer fees or currency conversion costs are borne by the traveller

Please note: Refund timing depends on your bank or card provider. SriReisen processes refunds within 7–14 business days, but your bank may take additional time to credit the funds to your account.

5. Trip Interruption & Early Departure

If you choose to leave a tour early for personal reasons, no refund will be issued for the unused portion of the tour. SriReisen strongly recommends travel insurance that covers trip interruption for any reason.

If you are forced to leave early due to a medical emergency, please contact SriReisen immediately. We will do our best to assist with arrangements, and your travel insurer should be notified as soon as possible.

6. EU Package Travel Rights

Travellers who are EU residents benefit from additional rights under Directive (EU) 2015/2302. These include:

  • The right to transfer your package to another person with reasonable notice
  • The right to terminate the contract without a cancellation fee in cases of unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances at the destination that significantly affect the tour
  • The right to a price reduction or compensation if services are not performed as agreed
  • The right to assistance if you are in difficulty during the tour

These rights apply in addition to SriReisen’s standard cancellation policy and are not restricted by it.

7. Travel Insurance

SriReisen strongly recommends that all travellers purchase comprehensive travel insurance that covers at minimum:

  • Trip cancellation or interruption (including for any reason cover where possible)
  • Medical expenses and emergency evacuation
  • Delay or disruption to travel plans
  • Loss, theft, or damage to baggage and personal belongings

Travel insurance can protect you from financial losses in circumstances beyond your or SriReisen’s control. SriReisen accepts no responsibility for losses that would have been covered by appropriate travel insurance.
