SriReisen — Travel Services Agreement

These Terms & Conditions govern all travel services provided by SriReisen. By submitting a travel enquiry or confirming a booking, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before booking.

1. About SriReisen

SriReisen is a Sri Lanka–based travel services company specialising in tailor-made tours, round tours, day tours, accommodation arrangements, private transportation, and related travel services throughout Sri Lanka.

2. Our Role as Travel Organiser

SriReisen organises travel services and works with a trusted network of independent third-party providers, including hotels, guesthouses, drivers, local guides, and activity operators. While we carefully select our partners, they remain independent businesses.

EU Package Travel Notice

For customers residing in the European Union, SriReisen acts as the organiser of package travel services within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2015/2302, where two or more travel services (e.g. transport and accommodation) are combined into a single booking.

As organiser, SriReisen is responsible for the proper performance of all travel services included in your confirmed booking, subject to these Terms & Conditions and applicable law. You have the right to transfer your package to another person, to a price reduction or price increase in certain circumstances, and to terminate the contract in specific situations without paying a termination fee.

Insolvency Protection Notice:
SriReisen does not operate under an EU-registered insolvency protection scheme.
EU travellers are strongly advised to:
• Use a payment method with buyer protection (e.g. credit card)
• Obtain comprehensive travel insurance that includes cancellation cover

3. Travel Requests & Contract Formation

3.1 Submitting an Enquiry

Submitting a travel enquiry — whether via our website contact form, email, or WhatsApp — does not create a binding contract. It is an invitation to receive a personalised travel proposal.

3.2 How a Contract is Formed

A legally binding travel contract is concluded only when both of the following conditions are met:

  • SriReisen sends written confirmation of the booking (by email), AND
  • The required deposit or full payment has been received by SriReisen.

Until both conditions are satisfied, SriReisen is under no obligation to hold availability, and prices and itineraries remain subject to change.

3.3 Pre-Contract Information

Before confirming a booking, you will receive clear written information including:

  • All included travel services and their description
  • Total price, payment schedule, and any applicable taxes or fees
  • Cancellation and refund conditions
  • Contact details of SriReisen
  • Applicable EU Package Travel rights (where relevant)

This pre-contract information forms part of the travel contract once the booking is confirmed.

3.4 Accuracy of Information

All itineraries, tour descriptions, and prices are subject to availability at the time of confirmation. SriReisen makes every effort to ensure that all information published on our website is accurate and up to date. However, SriReisen reserves the right to correct any errors before a contract is concluded.

4. Prices & Changes

4.1 Pricing

Tour prices are quoted in USD, EUR, or LKR as specified in your booking confirmation. Prices are determined at the time of booking and depend on factors including season, accommodation category, group size, fuel costs, local taxes, and exchange rates.

4.2 Price Revisions

After a contract is concluded, SriReisen may revise the price only in the following circumstances and only if this was clearly stated in the contract:

  • Changes in transport costs, including fuel prices
  • Changes in taxes, fees, or levies imposed by third parties
  • Exchange rate fluctuations affecting costs

Price increases may only be applied more than 20 days before the tour start date. If a price increase exceeds 8% of the total tour price, you have the right to terminate the contract without paying a cancellation fee and receive a full refund.

4.3 What Is Included

The specific services included in your tour are listed in your booking confirmation. Unless explicitly stated, prices generally do not include international flights, personal travel insurance, visa fees, tips and gratuities, personal expenses, or optional activities not listed in the itinerary.

4.4 Minor Itinerary Changes

Minor changes to a confirmed itinerary — such as adjustments to timing, routing, or accommodation within the same quality category — may occasionally be necessary for operational, safety, or logistical reasons. These changes will be communicated to you as promptly as possible.

Such minor changes do not constitute a ‘significant change’ under EU Package Travel law and do not entitle you to cancel the booking free of charge.

4.5 Significant Changes

If SriReisen needs to make a significant change to a confirmed booking — such as a major change to the itinerary, a substantial increase in price, or a change to the departure date — we will notify you promptly in writing. In such cases, you will be offered the choice to:

  • Accept the change and continue with the modified booking
  • Accept an alternative tour of equivalent or higher quality, or a lower-quality tour with a price reduction
  • Terminate the contract and receive a full refund of all payments made

5. Traveller Responsibilities

5.1 Travel Documents

You are solely responsible for ensuring that you hold all valid and required travel documents for your trip, including:

  • A valid passport (with sufficient validity — typically at least 6 months beyond your return date)
  • A valid visa or Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for Sri Lanka
  • Any other entry permits, health certificates, or vaccination records required for your nationality

SriReisen accepts no liability for denied boarding, entry refusal, or any other consequence arising from insufficient or missing travel documents.

5.2 Health & Fitness

It is your responsibility to ensure you are in adequate physical health to participate in all booked activities. Some activities (e.g. safaris, hiking, white-water rafting) may have age, fitness, or health requirements. Please disclose any relevant health conditions at the time of booking.

5.4 Conduct & Local Laws

You are responsible for complying with all local laws, regulations, and customs during your trip in Sri Lanka. SriReisen reserves the right to exclude any traveller from a tour at any time if their behaviour poses a risk to themselves, other travellers, or third parties. In such cases, no refund will be due.

5.5 Accuracy of Information Provided

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete personal information when booking, including passport details, contact information, dietary requirements, and any relevant health conditions. SriReisen cannot be held liable for issues arising from inaccurate information provided by the traveller.

6. Health, Safety & Risk Acceptance

Travel in Sri Lanka may involve inherent risks including but not limited to road conditions, wildlife encounters, weather events, remote locations, and physical activities. By confirming a booking with SriReisen, you acknowledge that you understand and accept these inherent risks.

SriReisen takes reasonable precautions to minimise risk and works with trusted, safety-conscious local providers. We will inform you of any known health or safety advisories relevant to your itinerary. However, we cannot guarantee risk-free travel, and we strongly recommend that you review the current travel advice issued by your home country’s foreign affairs ministry before travelling.

7. Liability

7.1 SriReisen's Liability

As the organiser of package travel, SriReisen is liable for the proper performance of the travel services included in your confirmed booking. If a service is not performed or is performed defectively, SriReisen will take reasonable steps to remedy the situation, offer a suitable alternative, or provide a proportionate price reduction or compensation.

7.2 Limitations of Liability

SriReisen is not liable for:

  • Acts or omissions of third-party service providers that are unforeseeable or unavoidable, and beyond our reasonable control
  • Events caused by you, another traveller, or an unconnected third party
  • Weather conditions, natural events, or force majeure (see Section 8)
  • Illness, injury, loss, theft, or damage not caused by the direct negligence of SriReisen
  • Failure to obtain valid travel documents, visas, or insurance

7.3 Limitation of Compensation

Where compensation is due, SriReisen’s total liability is limited to a maximum of three times the total price of the tour, except in cases of personal injury, death, or damage caused by the wilful misconduct or gross negligence of SriReisen.

7.4 Third-Party Terms

Certain services provided by third parties (such as airlines, hotels, or activity operators) may be subject to their own terms and conditions, which may limit or exclude their own liability. These terms apply in addition to these Terms & Conditions.

8. Force Majeure

SriReisen is not responsible for failure or delay in the performance of travel services caused by events beyond its reasonable control (‘force majeure’), including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters, floods, earthquakes, extreme weather, or other acts of nature
  • Political unrest, civil disorder, acts of terrorism, or war
  • Pandemics, epidemics, or public health emergencies
  • Government restrictions, border closures, or travel bans
  • Industrial action or strikes affecting transport or services

In the event of force majeure that makes it impossible or unreasonably risky to continue with a booked tour, SriReisen will notify you as soon as possible and explore alternative arrangements. Where a full refund is not possible due to non-recoverable costs already incurred, SriReisen will provide a transparent breakdown of costs and will refund the recoverable portion.

9. Complaints & Dispute Resolution

9.1 During Your Tour

If you experience a problem during your tour, please notify your SriReisen contact or local guide immediately. Prompt notification allows us to resolve issues on the spot. Failure to report a problem during the tour may affect your ability to claim compensation afterwards.

9.2 After Your Tour

If your complaint cannot be resolved during the tour, please submit a written complaint to info@srireisen.com within 28 days of your return. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to provide a full response within 28 days.

9.3 EU Online Dispute Resolution

EU residents may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform:

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the SriReisen website and in our communications — including tour descriptions, photographs, itineraries, logos, and branding — is the intellectual property of SriReisen or its licensors. No content may be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without prior written consent from SriReisen.

11. Privacy & Data Protection

SriReisen collects and processes personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website. By booking with SriReisen, you consent to the processing of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Amendments to These Terms

SriReisen reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website with an updated ‘Last updated’ date. Changes do not apply to bookings already confirmed before the date of the amendment. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

This governing law clause does not affect any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the laws of your country of residence as an EU consumer, including rights under Directive (EU) 2015/2302.
